Fortnite Mobile Guide

Mobile Fortnite is a real playlist, not a toy, but it is not the same game as 240 FPS PC. Play it on its own terms.

Touch vs controller

Touch if you are on a phone and will not clip a controller. You need a custom HUD. Default HUD is for tutorials.

Controller if you have one and a stable surface. You get aim assist closer to console. You lose some of the โ€œplay in a carโ€ convenience.

Do not switch between touch and controller every other game. Ranked muscle memory will melt.

HUD rules (touch)

  • Fire button where your thumb already rests โ€” large.
  • Build pieces in a cluster you can hit without covering the center of the screen.
  • Edit near builds.
  • Do not put inventory in the same place as fire.
  • Leave the middle of the screen empty. That is where enemies are.

Spend one Creative session only moving HUD widgets. Then lock it for a month.

Graphics

Lowest effects that still let you see players. 30 FPS locked is better than 60 that drops to 20 in endgame. Heat is a setting: a phone in a case in the sun will lose to a phone on a table.

Turn off extra visual clutter (motion blur, fancy shadows) the same way console players do. Console settings.

What to queue

Best: Zero Build, Reload, Creative aim maps.

Hardest: high-level build ranked vs high-refresh players if you are on touch. You can still climb; you should not measure yourself against a kbm Unreal clip.

Warmup: aim maps still work on mobile. Skip edit courses that require 10 keys you do not have.
