Fortnite game modes explained
The lobby is a list of different games that share a locker. Pick one main mode or you will be average at six.
The shooters
Battle Royale (builds)
The 100-player island with building, Override consoles, Sprites. Ranked exists.
Zero Build
Same island idea, no builds. Better on-ramp, real ranked.
Reload
Smaller map, respawns, more fights per hour. Not a substitute for BR endgames.
OG
Chapter 1 island. Season 9 ends September 2, 2026, then Season X. Separate pass.
The other client
Creative / UEFN
Practice and party games. Codes on Fortnite3 maps pages.
LEGO / Festival / Racing
PVE, rhythm, cars. Crew often bundles their passes. They will not fix your shotgun.
FAQ
What should a new player queue?

Zero Build, then Reload for fights, then Creative aim. Builds when you are bored of dying to walls you cannot place.
Is ranked required?
+
No. Pubs plus Creative is a complete game.
Override BR is the season headline. Reload is the trainer. OG is nostalgia with a deadline. Everything else is optional.
