Fortnite Sprites, Gizmos, and Sprite Dust Guide (Override)
How Sprites work in Chapter 7 Season 4: starters, new roster, Sprite Dust, Gizmos, Cheat Master variants, and what is worth grinding in August 2026.
Fortnite Sprites, Gizmos, and Sprite Dust (Override)
Sprites are Chapter 7โs pet-style power-ups. In Season 4: Override they were rebuilt. If you last played during Runners (Season 3), unlearn Sprite Chests. They are gone.
This is a practical list of what to pick, what to hunt, and what to ignore so you do not spend three hours on a collection that does not win fights.
The Override Sprite rules
- No Sprite Chests. Hunting last seasonโs chest spawns is a waste of a drop.
- Pick a starter before your first match: Bush, Jonesy, or Adventure.
- New roster includes Shadow, Sonic, Tails, 8-Bit, Kill Switch, Jazz Jackrabbit, and Crown, plus more as the season rolls.
- Cheat code arrows on the map can grant a Sprite. Arrow color hints rarity.
- Lobby Hacks / Admin Panel can grant locators or a specific Sprite. Confirmed early codes include
survive the night(locators) andgot to go fast(Cheat Master Sonic before first match). Codes can be patched โ type them in-game only. - Sprite Garden is the collection / display mode for older Sprites. It is not the Battle Royale loadout screen.
If a website sells โall Sprite codesโ as a zip file, close it. See account safety.
Starter Sprite: pick one and keep it
Bush Sprite โ camouflage after you stand still. Best for:
- Zero Build players who hold ridges.
- Endgame players who already know how to wait.
Bad if you never stop moving. The bush does nothing while you W-key.
Jonesy Sprite โ regen when you take damage. Best for:
- Players who win fights but leak HP to chip.
- Reload-to-BR players who always enter zone tagged.
Bad if you play perfectly and never get shot. Then it is a wasted slot versus mobility.
Adventure Sprite โ upgrades a random inventory item as it levels. Best for:
- Pubs and exploration.
- Players who loot a lot of gray/white guns.
Bad in ranked if you already land on a stable loadout and do not want RNG upgrades mid-fight.
Combat Sprites worth hunting
Shadow Sprite (Epic) โ reloads weapons you are not holding. This is the best โI play shotgun + ARโ Sprite. You pump, swap, and the pump is coming back.
Sonic Sprite (Epic) โ sprint speed per level. Rotation Sprite. Strong when zone is brutal. Pair with vehicles; do not assume it replaces shockwaves.
Tails Sprite โ hover. Use it like a short-term glider. Practice the height in Creative or a pub before you hover over a stacked endgame in ranked.
8-Bit Sprite (Epic) โ can force an 8-Bit Shotgun in your first chest and boosts that gunโs scoreboard. Fun. Loud. The lobby can see you are on the arcade shotgun plan.
Kill Switch Sprite (Epic) โ better accuracy while jumping or falling. If you already jump-peek constantly, this is a real upgrade. If you stand still to shoot, skip it.
Jazz Jackrabbit (Legendary) โ double jump plus speed per level. High skill ceiling. Mis-jumps get you beamed. Warm up jumps for a day before ranked.
Crown Sprite (Mythic) โ levels from wins. Gold / Cheat Master variants exist; Cheat Master can auto-succeed cheat code entry. This is a long-run collection goal, not a week-one ranked pick.
New Cheat Master Sprites (Klombo, Jackrabbit, Killswitch, Shadow, and others) have been rolling during late August. Check the in-game Sprite collection and current quest tab โ do not trust a three-week-old screenshot.
Sprite Dust and Gizmos
Sprite Dust is the season currency used to:
- Unlock and upgrade Loot Hacks in the Override lobby tab.
- Spend on Gizmos / seasonal upgrade tracks.
How to get dust without ruining your games:
- Play the match you already wanted to play. Dust should come from quests and natural play.
- Do not third-party every Sprite arrow if you are in ranked and already looted.
- If a weekly quest says โcollect Sprite Dust,โ do it in pubs or Reload, not in your only Unreal session of the night.
Gizmos are seasonal gadgets. They change with patches. Before you rebuild your entire drop around a Gizmo:
- Confirm it is still in the loot pool after the latest hotfix.
- Confirm it is allowed in your playlist (BR vs Zero Build vs ranked).
- Confirm you have an inventory slot that is not your shotgun.
More on the lobby side of this: Match Overrides and Loot Hacks.
A sane collection plan
Day 1โ3: starter Sprite + one combat Sprite you understand.
Week 1: unlock Loot Hack slots you will actually use (a shotgun you like, a mobility item, a sniper if you snipe).
Week 2+: Crown / Cheat Master hunting only if you already like the season. Collection is optional. Winning is not.
If you are a parent or sharing an account with a kid, Sprite โunlockersโ and paid code lists are the scam vector this season. The parent guide covers that.
