Fortnite Healing and Shields

If you take a 50/50 and win at 40 HP, the fight is not over. The next player is already walking. Healing is the second half of every engagement.

Priority

  1. Get cover. A kit in the open is a highlight for someone else.
  2. Shields before health if you expect another fight in the next 20 seconds (minis, slurp).
  3. Health before shields only if you are 5 HP and a sneeze kills you.
  4. Do not start a 10-second heal if you can hear footsteps.

What to carry

Carry heals that match how you die:

  • You die to chip and third parties โ†’ minis + splash / slurp
  • You die to one shotgun โ†’ you need better fights, not more kits
  • You die in storm โ†’ mobility and earlier rotations, plus a splash

Two stacks of minis beat one legendary bandage if you play aggressive.

Override wrinkle

Constant Heal (out of combat regen) is a console effect, not a reason to drop all heals. You still need burst shields when combat never stops. Match Overrides.

Jonesy Sprite regen-on-damage is chip insurance. It does not replace minis. Sprites.

Ranked rule

After a knock, you have a clock:

  • 1 second: confirm the knock / look at the box
  • 2โ€“4 seconds: minis if you have them
  • Then loot shotgun shells and leave

Players who fully loot before healing are the reason third-parties feel โ€œunfair.โ€
